The Fvneral games for Senator Dio Sabbathvs

The Prologue

And its a packed arena here today in Kourion.  The crowd are enjoying the anticipation of the entertainments on offer as we celebrate the Funereal Games for Senator Dio Sabbathus, sadly passed, and we were treated to an early morning Rainbow in the Dark to mark his passing...

Honest Figulus is accepting bets.  You have 50 Denarius and may spread your betting between the bouts.  All bets are at 2:1 double your money.   Honest Figulus won`t let you down.  When the fun stops just bet more!
But in the Arena the Fun never stops...

Bout 1   Slaves vs Ostrich.  5 rounds to catch and kill. Hilarious fun

Bout 2   Slaves vs Rhino.   5 round match to kill the Rhino

Bout 3   Slave vs giraffe.  5 rounds catch and kill.  Side-splitting humour.

Bout 4   Slaves vs Crocodile vs Lion.  Bets accepted on the Crocodile or the Lion or if you feel lucky the slaves...

Bout 5   Slaves vs Thracian.  Cassius the Nubian returns to the arena.

Bout 6   Two Dwarf Secutors against the Giant Thracian Galba.  Little against large. The fun never ends!

Bout 7   The Classic, Secutor vs Retarius.  For serious sports fans.

Bout 8   The Second Classic match Secutor Venutius of Gaul vs the Retarius Juba the Nubian.  Both veterans.

Bout 9.  The Primus... A battle of the Titan Murmillos
Ossius of the Black Feathers vs Gillanus the Villainous.

Honest Figulus does some fast taking, we used the wrong guy, didn`t realise it had to be Venutius, even though I have a figure marked Venutius for goodness sake!  Quntus wins 30 on Juba, Proximo has 15 returned Brutus has 5 returned...
Ouch.

Bout Two Brutus  10 on the Rhino
Bout Four Proximo 10 Brutus 10 on the Lion
Bout Five Brutus 20 on Cassius the Nubian
Bout Six Brutus wins 20 coin on the Giant
Bout Seven 30 to the Oakenshield as their own Retarius wins
Bout Eight 30 to Quintus as Juba Wins.  15 Coins returned to Proximo and 5 to Brutus.

Bout Nine 10 to Brutus 30 to Proximo.

And finally a last word from the Great man we are here to honour, Senator Dio...

Oh they say that it's over
And it just had to be
Ooh they say that it's over
We're lost children of the sea, oh Woah!

Comments

  1. Bout 4 Slaves vs Crocodile vs Lion. Bets accepted on the Crocodile or the Lion or if you feel lucky the slaves...
5 Denarii on the Lion - after all no-one can Kill the King

Bout 6 Two Dwarf Secutors against the Giant Thracian Galba. Little against large. The fun never ends!
10 Denarii on the Dwarves - always go for numbers I say, after all The Mob Rules

Bout 8 The Second Classic match Secutor Venutius of Gaul vs the Retarius Juba the Nubian. Both veterans.
15 Denarii on Venutius (Mrs Proximo fancies Juba but then the lady's Starstruck)

Bout 9. The Primus... A battle of the Titan Murmillos Ossius of the Black Feathers vs Gillanus the Villainous.
20 Denarii on Ozzius. Always bet on a man in feathers. That Gillanus is a mere nothing by comparison - Zero the Hero they call him. I just hope I'm not wasting my money - or am I being Paranoid?

  4. Alas the Gaming commission have decreed against Honest Figulus, and he has fled to Pafos to escape justice.
The substitution of a Nubian for the Gaul, Venutius, was too much for the crowd. He may claim an honest mistake but the dude was black for goodness sake.

Equally damning was that win for Cassius over those two Noxii. Both were obviously low in vitality having been softened up before the bout.

As for that last bout, Figulus can only plead the dice. I wanted a great toe to toe combat, and what I got was an immediate killing blow! Frustrating but that was the dice.

If the assassin Josephus Pescius catches up with Figulus he will find Raymondus Liottus and Paulus Sorvinus as his bodyguards. Both good fellas.
